Cisco Networking Academy

Development of an IoT system designed for automation and monitoring across environments. This system integrates various devices including motion sensors, alarms, RFID, and lights etc... interconnected via Wi-Fi and managed through a centralized server.

Mockup

All the network devices connect to microcontrollers for local data processing and server communication. The server aggregates data and coordinates actions, while users can conveniently monitor and control all devices through a web dashboard.

The system functions according to preset conditions for each sensor. For example, when the temperature sensor detects an abnormal rise, the system prompts the air conditioning unit to adjust. Likewise, upon detecting suspicious motion in a secured area, the motion sensor triggers the alarm and notifies designated users for immediate action.

About the project

The project provided knowledge of real IoT architectures, microcontroller operations, sensor integration, and server-side programming. It enhanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management abilities. Additionally, improved my proficiency in Python and broadened understanding of various networking protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee. This project significantly helped me in navigating complexities of IoT systems.
